A short course intended for people who are already working as community interpreters but realize that they need to know a lot more than just the two languages to function properly. It covers the basic ethics, interpreting processes and professional conduct. It was developed as a lecture series but is, in fact, very interactive with plenty of Q&A. This course is not available in Metro Vancouver – it is a form of linguistic triage for places that lack a supply of trained interpreters at all levels.
